Keeping kids warm in Colorado Springs!
Koats 4 Kids started as
just an idea through conversation. In 2006, it turned into a memorable community event that continues to happen each fall. Koats 4 Kids chooses a new low-income school each year and our mission is to provide every child in the school a brand new warm winter coat. Each year our event brings in around 500 coats and winter items.
Our event continues to grow and bring in old friends and a new crowd excited to donate warm coats to children who may otherwise go to school without one. For 10 years, Koats 4 Kids partnered with the Colorado Springs Conservatory to raise more than $80,000 for scholarships. To date, our event continues to raise funds through a silent auction and raffle tickets (sold by the volunteers in chicken hats!!) and donates the money raised to a community resource in need.
Koats 4 Kids is very grateful for all the local support of our sponsors including our very first, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, which continues to be a lead sponsor to honor the late Tom Rogers.
This organization was originally co-founded by Jen Furda and Linda Weise and is currently lead by Tom’s daughter, Courtney Olson. Courtney is excited to be a part of Koats 4 Kids and invites the entire community to come keep the tradition alive and the children of Colorado Springs warm!
